For the third year, WAC welcomes Driftwood Theatre back to Westport for an outdoor performance of William Shakespeare’s Hamlet. Under the stars at Lockwood Park on 6 August 2015, it’s Hamlet like you’ve never seen it before: a thrilling new adaptation by dramaturg Toby Malone that is unpredictable, unsettling and downright dangerous – Hamlet with the brakes off. Newcomers to Hamlet and Shakespearean aficionados will delight in this version; a perfect match for Driftwood’s inventive theatrical style and magical outdoor settings.

Rain or shine event! We will move into the arena if there is inclement weather.

St. Paul’s and St. Mary’s Anglican churches will be running a canteen: fresh corn, hot dogs & drinks.

–The Tempest, William Shakespeare

Driftwood Theatre presents Shakespeare’s masterpiece, The Tempest. One of Shakespeare’s most celebrated plays, The Tempest pits one man’s need for personal vengeance against his hopes for the future of his family. It is a story of magic, power and forgiveness told in Driftwood’ signature style blending movement, song, puppetry and classic storytelling.
